Policy Statement

At Terra15, we respect the privacy of our visitors, customers, employees and suppliers. This Privacy Policy describes types of information that is collected and recorded by Terra15 and how we use it.

Purpose

This policy aims to satisfy Australian information privacy laws and fulfil its obligations to take positive steps to adopt practices and systems to protect personal data in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.  This policy also sets out the procedures Terra15 has adopted in order to meet the requirements of European and Californian data protection laws.

Information we collect

Information is collected in the following ways:

  • If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.
  • When you submit a form on our website, we ask for your contact information, including items such as name, company name, address, email address, and telephone number.
  • Supplier and employee information is collected via forms.
  • With your express permission, Terra15 may collect and use data obtained from our hardware and software products. While this raw data does not fall within the definition of personal information for the purposes of the Australian information privacy laws, we nevertheless treat it in accordance with this policy as a matter of confidentiality.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:

  • Manage and develop our business and operations
  • Provide, operate, and maintain our website
  • Improve, personalise, and expand our website
  • Understand and analyse how you use our website
  • Develop new products, services, features, and functionality
  • Improve existing products

Security

Terra15 adopts appropriate information technology security practices to keep personal, sensitive and general information secure including:

  • Access to data being linked to user ID such that employees are only granted access to information they need to perform their duties.
  • Using a secure file hosting service to store general and day to day company information.
  • Using an external payroll administration service for payment of employees.
  • Using an external Customer Relationship Management system for customer and sales information.
  • Using a secure file hosting service to store customer data collected from Terra15 software and hardware – noting this does not contain any personal or sensitive information.

Employees and consultants

Employees and consultants are subject to confidentiality obligations in their employment or engagement contracts.

Anything that has not been published outside of Terra15, or is not considered common knowledge about Terra15, should be treated as confidential information.

Confidentiality applies to all Terra15 information that an employee or consultant becomes exposed to during their employment.  All confidential information obtained during an employee’s employment (or consultant’s engagement) shall not be discussed with employees whose jobs do not call for use of such information or with any non-employee unless they have a need to know such information and the employee or consultant obtains approval from a designated manager or senior executive.

Employees and consultants must ensure that all confidential or sensitive information, particularly personal information, is not visible or accessible to others whose job does not require them to have access to such confidential information.

Confidentiality regarding our technical knowledge, methods and developments is required to assure our place in our market and provide job security for our employees.

Customer data

Our customers are essential to the success of our business. All customer information and data, especially personal information, is to be maintained with great care, and strictly in compliance with company policies and procedures including this Privacy Policy to ensure the confidentiality of our clients’ information.

Employees should at all times presume that information about our customers and information received from them is confidential unless they indicate otherwise. This includes information about whether or not an individual or business is a client.

Log Files

Terra15 follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this as a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analysing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

Cookies and Web Beacons

Like any other website, Terra15 uses ‘cookies’. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users’ experience by customising our web page content based on visitors’ browser type and/or other information.

 

Advertising Partners Privacy Policies

Third-party ad servers or ad networks use technologies like cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons that are used in their respective advertisements and links that appear on Terra15. These are sent directly to the users’ browser. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. These technologies are used to measure the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and/or to personalize the advertising content that you see on websites that you visit.

Note that Terra15 has no access to or control over these cookies that are used by third-party advertisers.

Third Party Privacy Policies

Terra15’s Privacy Policy does not apply to other advertisers or websites. We advise you to consult the respective privacy policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information. They may include their practices and instructions about how to opt-out of certain options.

You can choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options. To learn more detailed information about cookie management with specific web browsers, refer to the browsers’ respective websites.

CCPA Privacy Rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), among other rights, California consumers have the right to:

  • Request that a business that collects a consumer’s personal data disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal data that a business has collected about consumers.
  • Request that a business delete any personal data about the consumer that a business has collected.
  • Request that a business that sells a consumer’s personal data, not sell the consumer’s personal data. Terra15 does not sell any user information to third parties.

GDPR Data Protection Rights

Under the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), citizens and residents of the EU have certain data protection rights. Every such user is entitled to the following:

  • The right to access – You have the right to request copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
  • The right to rectification – You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that we complete the information you believe is incomplete.
  • The right to erasure – You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to data portability – You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

Children’s Information

We respect the privacy and protection of children in particular while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.

Terra15 does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will use our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
